Here are some routes from around England to assist you

Nine Oaks is located in the little hamlet of Oakford ("Derwen Gam" in Welsh). Oakford is 20 miles south of the Mid-Wales Coastal Town of Aberystwyth and 1.5 miles inland from the A487, Aberystwyth to Cardigan coast road. It is midway between the nearby Coastal Town of Aberaeron and the Fishing Village of New Quay (Mid-Wales). The postcode is SA47 0RW.

Other nearby Coastal Towns and Villages are Aberath, Aberaeron, Tresaith, Penbryn, Mwnt, New Quay, Cwmtydyu and Cardigan. Pembrokeshire is about 40 miles south and Machynlleth and Dolgelleau 40 miles north.

From the North

Take the M60 (South) onto the M56 and head towards Chester.

At Ellesmere Port branch off onto the Chester section heading for Chester, Wrexham and North Wales.

This road then becomes the A55 (North Wales).

Leave the A55 at the A483 (Wrexham) and remain on the A483 road passing through, Oswestry, Welshpool, Newtown then heading for Llangurig.

CAUTION: After Newtown the A489 invisibly becomes the A470.

At the Llangurig roundabout take the A44 through Llangurig heading for Aberystwyth.

At Aberystwyth take the coast road (A487) south for Cardigan.

Go through Aberarth and Aberaeron, and approximately 3 miles past Aberaeron you should find a Petrol Station on your RHS at Llewncylln. About 60 yards past the station, on the LHS is the turning for Oakford (Derwen Gam) Village.

Turn left for Oakford (Derwen Gam) and follow the country road for about 1.5 miles.


In the centre of the village of Oakford you will be at a staggered cross-roads. There is a multi-sign post on the corner of the cross-roads, take the road sign posted "Mydroilin". After about 100 yards further along the "Mydroilin" road you should see the sign for "Nine Oaks" on your right-hand side just past the last bungalow.

Manchester to Aberaeron is 145 miles approx which, depending on traffic, should take roughly 3.5 hours

From the South

Take the M4 (West) towards Bristol.

Remain on the M4 over the Severn Bridge. Continue until A48 Carmarthen.

At Carmarthen take the A40 (Westbound) towards Haverfordwest.

Approx 30 miles past Carmarthen, take the coast road (A487) to Aberystwyth.

Approx 15 miles later you will drive past the village of New Quay.

Approx 4 miles further on the left-hand side is a Londis Grocery store within the curtilage of a Petrol Station. Follow signs for Oakford (Derwen Gam).

Oakford (Derwen Gam) is 1.5miles inland from the coast road along the winding country road.


In the centre of the village of Oakford you will be at a staggered cross-roads. There is a multi-sign post on the corner of the cross-roads, take the road sign posted "Mydroilin". After about 100 yards further along the "Mydroilin" road you should see the sign for "Nine Oaks" on your right-hand side just past the last bungalow.

London to Aberaeron is 285 miles approx.

From the Midlands

Take the M6 North to Junction 10a (M54).

On the M54 head for Shrewsbury.

At wellington the M54 ceases and becomes the A5.

Continue on the A5 past Shrewsbury, heading for Welshpool (A458).

At Welshpool take the A483 south towards Newton.

Remain on the A483 towards Llangurig (A489).

The A489 becomes the A470 - at Llangurig roundabout take the A44 (Aberystwyth).
At Aberystwyth take the coast road (A487) south for Cardigan.

Go past Aberarth and Aberaeron.

About 3 miles after Aberaeron lookout for the signs for Oakford (Derwen Gam), roughly 50 yards past a Petrol Station in the village of Llewncylln.

Oakford (Derwen Gam) is 1.5miles inland from the coast road along the winding country road.
